OPERA

2021 Semifinalist Will Liverman won a Grammy award for his starring turn as Charles in Fire Shut Up In My Bones, and has received two more nominations for his solo albums. His new opera The Factotum was well-received at Chicago Lyric Opera.

2014 Gold Medalist Mikki Sodergren joined the full-time roster for the Metropolitan Opera Chorus in the 22/23 season.

2016 Semifinalist Jasmine Muhammad has joined the full-time roster for the Metropolitan Opera Chorus in the 22/23 season..

2020 Silver Medalist Jasmine Habersham will star this season as Gilda in Rigoletto with Utah Opera, will sing Susanna in Le Nozze with Madison Opera, will sing Sophie in Wether with Houston Grand Opera and will perform with Rochester and Dallas Symphonies.

 

2022 Finalist Elizabeth Baldwin sings the soprano solo in Verdi’s Requiem with the Savannah Philharmonic in May 2024.

2016 Bronze Medalist Aundi Moore won the 2023 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, and made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2020 as Strawberry Woman in the Grammy-award winning production of Porgy and Bess.

2021 Semi Finalist Jessica Fishenfeld put her operatic skills on display as she sang “O Mio Babbino Caro” while performing an aerial routine on America’s Got Talent in 2022.

2022 Finalist Lisa Marie Rogali sings Mércèdes in Carmen and covered Maria in The Sound of Music in the Glimmerglass Festival, summer 2022.

2019 Gold Medalist Mykal Kilgore released his debut album A Man Born Black. The lead single, “Let Me Go” was nominated for the 2021 Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance.

2019 Johnny Mercer Award winner Cyrille Aimée’s rendition of Stephen Sondheim's 'Mary Me a Little' -- from her album Move On, earned her a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals,

2014 Gold Medalist Mikki Sodergren performed with the Clarion Choir for a Grammy win in 2021 for Dame Ethel Smyth’s The Prison for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album, in addition to two 2021 nomination for Best Choral Performance, Classical, and for Producer of the Year, Classical for Kastalsky’s Requiem, and a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Choral Performance, Classical for Kastalsky’s Memory Eternal.
