Our Mission

The American Traditions Vocal Collection celebrates and preserves all styles of classic American music. Through musical education, community events, concerts and our annual vocal competitions for regional high schoolers and professional vocalists, the ATC keeps classic genres of American music alive.

Now in its 30th annual year, ATC is the world’s only professional vocal competition focused on the equal appreciation of all classic styles of American music. As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating these styles of music, we work with generations that already know these songs, and inspire a love of this music in newer generations, engaging audiences of all ages through educational experiences, concert experiences, and our namesake program: The American Traditions Vocal Competition. Our organization operates year-round to create and implement our educational offerings, while propelling students toward success in our major educational initiative, The Junior ATC, crafting world-class concerts featuring performers associated with the ATC, while sourcing and engaging celebrated performers of all genres to adjudicate our international, professional vocal competition. Our organization believes that we are all stronger together, and therefore happily partners with other organizations, including Savannah VOICE Festival, Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Friends of Johnny Mercer, as well as beloved Savannah houses of worship, including Skidaway Island United Methodist Church, Lutheran Church of the Ascension and First Presbyterian Church.
